Seasonal Prompt: Winter ❄

• As we all begin to settle down for the season to focus on our friends and families for the upcoming holidays, we set up a small seasonal prompt for the community to do at a leisurely pace.
• Completing this prompt weekly will provide you all the standard payouts for a regular prompt, plus x2 Golden Feathers and a Winter Bonus Loot Roll with the drop rate provided within the prompt's description.
• Prompt will end: February 30th, 11:59PM EST
  
  Prompt Requirements and Restrictions: 
• • Depict your Grem in a winter themed setting! Would your Grem be the type to play and explore in the wintry world? Or would they rather enjoy their time inside in the warmth? Do they bundle up to stave off the cold? Show us what they get up to!
  • The theme is open ended, but must at least show winter-related things to illustrate that this is set in a winter setting.
    (EG: Snowy backgrounds/ Holiday Decor/ Cold Breath /Winter Clothing, etc.)

  • This prompt can be completed once a week until the deadline provided above.
  • Minimum Requirement: Artwork must be cleanly lined and coloured! Background is NOT required as long as the theme is identifiable!
  • Can be created as gift art, or you can use your own Grem. 
  • Pieces submitted must be created uniquely for this prompt. Pre-existing pieces cannot be submitted.
  • The Focus Character in the piece is required to be at least 50% visible.

With the end of the autumn season drawing near, the October Event has come to a close. Frisk has packed up their bags and is busy disassembling their shop. If there are any last minute items you'd like to purchase, it seems like now might be a good time before they disappear again into the night.

santopae FORAGING MODIFICATIONS

• A small little update on the Foraging Area: Golden Feathers and Insect Wing Fragments have been applied to the Santopae Forage area as of December 1st. They are classified as mythic, so the chance will be a very low one to get.
•  The percentage of pulling nothing has been lowered, meaning that you will have a bit of a higher chance of getting other items or gibs instead.
• We are aware that the chance of no drops during foraging is relatively high, and are working to fix this issue. Due to the level of involvement regarding this mechanic, it may take some time to develop a solution to this  as we settle on something that seems balanced and fair with regards to players and the current market. We appreciate the patience so that we may adjust this feature and release it in its most optimal form when it is ready!

• A little reminder that the event will be closing tonight at 11:59EST! ( Prompt Submissions / Foraging / Raffles).
• Be sure to get your submissions done and foraging completed before it goes away!

Trait Updates and Changes

• Tailless Trait has been added to the roster as a public trait. This trait will automatically be applied to any design that had the old "Sheet" (now "Skirt") trait as their only tail trait.
• Sheet Trait has been renamed to "Skirt" and has had its coverage area expanded onto parts of the Grem's body. Skirt has also been recategorized as a Free Mutation. You can still use Skirt within the tail area , but you're now required to apply the Tailless Trait in your trait description (if you are not using another tail type), since Skirt is no longer considered a tail trait.
• Scale Plating Trait has now been given a visual to show your allowance with scale use. Scales can now come slightly off the body similar to a pangolin's. Please check out the trait for more information!
• Mohawk Trail and Scruff Trait have been given art.
• Dragon Frill Trait has been given a proper description, the visual art is still in the works!
• The Begemmed Trait description was modified to allow thagomizers on the end of the tail without the need for the Horned Trait.
• Harlequin Trait description has been modified to allow different colored nails on the affected Harlequin leg.
• Damaged Tail Trait has been given visual art. 
• Brush Tail Trait has been given visual art.

A few quick update announcements for the group:

Site Age Limit

Based on our community poll from a while back, the new age restriction for the site is now 16+. As of today, October 27th, 2024, users under this age range may no longer create an account until they are of age. If we find that an underaged user has created a new account then we will close said account until they meet the minimum age bracket. 

There are a very small handful of long-time users just beneath the age bracket who have been here since before this update. They will be grandfathered in and allowed to keep their accounts so long as they were created before October 27th 2024.

However, for these grandfathered users, the site will be restricted. Discord is barred off from underaged users and design approvals, trades, shops and prompts which are NOT marked as "16+ only" are allowed to still be accessed, but that is your limit. Any new content that is marked with this tag will be inaccessible. 

Trait Category Update

There are a couple of Seasonal Traits which, unlike their counterparts that are available in only specific seasons, were intended to be available throughout every season (namely the Quad Wing and Insect Wing traits). We realize that the "Seasonal" name for these traits was a bit confusing when they continued to show up year round, so we have moved them into a new category called "Exclusive Traits."

This new category is essentially the same as the Seasonal Traits category in terms of rules and presentation, the only difference is that we can now separate them to be categorized as year-round exclusive traits which are separate from mutations, that you can access at any point, not just in specific seasons. 

Design Transfers and Character Binding

Please read this section fully and carefully.
This is something that has been in discussion for a while and that we've been wanting to implement for the better part of a couple of years or so. We have updated the group rules and are now going to be allowing Grem designs you own to be ported onto other closed species/one-off designs and vice versa without requiring that the Grem be voided first. (*One exception to this rule is Mantagrems, please read the section below for the rules regarding them as they are a special case since they are a hybrid that is co-owned with another party.)

This means that if you have a character that is special to you, you can now port them into Grems as a look-alike design even if they have alternate versions that exist in other species. You can also port your Grem designs to other species if you like and continue to keep the Grem active as well. 

As part of the update, and in an effort to help mitigate any trade issues that might arise. We do require that if you do this you let us know either via a claim, or during the design submission so that we can mark down on the Grems masterlist that they are based on/have counterpart designs.  

Please also know that if you decide to create a Grem based on a pre-existing design, OR create a design based on a Grem, you are required to let us know, and the designs will then be considered "bound" together. Bound designs may NOT be separated and should be traded or transferred together in the event that an ownership change takes place.  If we find that designs which were bound have been separated, then there may be repercussions for the offending user up to and including a ban depending on the severity of the damage caused. We will take design separation very seriously as it has potential to impact multiple users, which is something we'd rather avoid if possible, so please if you are going to create alternative designs, respect the binding rule. 

Note that this new rule only applies to designs that are visibly similar to the alternate versions. If you have designs that look entirely different but share the same name/personality/character bio, then this does not apply to those designs so long as they remain visually distinct. This is only for designs that are intended to be visibly the same design in alternative forms/species.

That being said if you have already created alternate species/one-off designs based on your Grem, or your Grem is based on  a pre-existing design and you'd like us to link them, then please submit a claim with the links to said characters and we will add this info into the notes section! 

For ease of access here is the updated section concerning Grems, alt designs, and binding designs. Please be sure to give it a read through as it should cover anything we've missed in this text.

[7:1] You are required to notify us when transferring the design of a grem you own onto another CS/One-off, (or vice versa) so that we may update the masterlist description to include a mention of the alt species/OC version. Any issues that arise from failure to do so may result in a strike or a forced Grem void depending on the severity.

[7:2] You may only create alternate species versions or OC's based on designs of Grems that you currently own.

[7:3] Upon creating a Grem based off of another one-off or closed species design, the Grem is considered bound permanently to the CS or one-off that they are based off of.

• Binding (or locking) means that the designs will be linked to each other and in the event that any of the linked designs are ever transferred (traded, sold, gifted, etc.) in the future, they all must be transferred together They cannot be separated under any circumstance.

[7:4] Trading a Grem (or a bound design attached to a Grem) separately from it's bound counterpart may result in severe consequences. (Final warning or ban depending on severity). 

[7:5] If you wish to separate a Grem from its bound designs, then you must go through the basic redesign process in order to make them look visually distinguishable enough from each other. This is the only way to lift the binding. Please let an admin know, and upon approval, the previously linked versions of the design will then be voided and hidden on the masterlist.

[7:6] Due to their co-ownership restrictions, Mantagrems are NOT allowed to have counterparts made based on their designs (one-offs or CS versions) without explicit permission from Kemikel. Mantagrems also may not be voided per Kemikels request.

• Please be sure to contact Kemikel before making an alt design based on a mantagrem as failure to do so could result in strikes, or a ban.

[7:7] Gremcorps staff is not responsible for any damage caused if you end up acquiring a design that was originally a users' one-off or CS. Please be sure to do your research before claiming a Grem.

We hope you guys enjoy this update and that this frees you up to port some of your favorite designs into Grems and vice versa for the Grems that you already own whom you'd love to use in other places as well. 

A small side note before we go. 

Remember that the applicators you get from collecting items such as the Wing Fragments or the Golden Feathers may be crafted in the Crafting Section of the site. This can be found by going to ACTIVITY>CRAFTING on the header dropdowns. You no longer need to send in claims for them as they are now automatic via crafting! We've had a few claims still be submitted for these, so figured the reminder might help. 

Also the Mutation Ticket / Mysterious Ticket Scraps have had their recipe art made and have been added into this area as well now, so feel free to take your scraps over to crafting and get glueing!

🌟 Golden Feather - This item will now be available in all foraging areas year round, but will be more commonly found in Event Foraging areas during event runs! 

CANDY/EVENT CURRENCY UPDATE

Starting this year, once the Event Shop comes to a close, all leftover candy will be permanently removed from user accounts and reset to 0. [AFTER  Dec 8th 11: 59PM EST].

• This update is being implemented in order to keep things fair for both new and old players alike. (This way all users will start on fresh even footing each year with collecting candy.) As well as to prevent any major fluctuations or complications in shop pricing during future events.
  
  
• There is a new option this year for what to do with your leftover candy! Users will be able to exchange any extra candy for gibs at an exchange rate of 1 per 5 in Frisk's Shop for the duration of the event. This feature will be available until Dec 8th 11: 59PM EST.
  • (As this is a new feature, please note that these exchange rates are not set in stone and could be subject to change during future events!)

MISC. UPDATES

Due to the large number of wild animals appearing last year and taking over foraging rolls, Companion Tokens have been removed from the event foraging area this year. Instead there will be a mini prompt geared towards obtaining the featured Companion for this event for those specifically seeking companions!

With that said, we will be removing pumpkimp tokens from evie's shop permanently on October 8th 11:59 PM EST. If you're wanting to buy one, then please be sure to purchase one from the shop before then! Otherwise you will also be able to obtain them during this event from the Featured Companion mini prompt. Once the event ends there will be other opportunities to collect them via mini prompts in the future.

Crafting:

We've added in a crafting system that will now allow users to turn in their "piece" items (Ex: Wing Fragments, Bone Sweets, Golden Feathers, etc.) automatically in exchange for the full applicators that they award. This means that you will no longer need to send in claims in order to get your item! The ticket scraps are missing a recipe at the moment but they should be added in sometime soon. We hope to add more to this feature over time as well!

As this system is new, please keep an eye out and let us know if anything unexpected or unintended happens as it is likely a bug that will need fixed!

Hello all! Here are a bunch of updates!

New "Mini prompt: eden"

The second prompt "Mini prompt: Eden" has officially been made available!
Here you will draw your grems spending time with eden, doing so will award you not only petals but a mysterious roll of something good from the tree itself! From potions, to gourds, gibs, and possibly more! This new mini prompt will be open until the end of the event (May 31st).

PRIVACY CHANGES

After a small update, we are now able to provide members with additional privacy settings for their accounts! This update adds a new toggle within the settings area that allows you to lock access to your personal account features, meaning that other Public/logged-out visitors and other members will be unable to view them. This should hopefully work somewhat similarly to toyhouse's visibility feature.

The list of lockable features is as follows:

• User Bank Currency + User Inventory
• Submission Logs + All other logs that could previously be found under the "History" Tab.
• MYO Inventory (as a result of this change the MYO masterlist page is also now going to be hidden for all users by default.)

The privacy setting is set to "on" by default, but if you wish to keep this setting turned off, then you can go into the settings area to toggle it off. At current, all lockable features are tied to the same privacy toggle so turning privacy on or off will affect all of the listed features at once.

Advertisement & Privacy Settings: Due to this new setting change, if you intend to advertise items for trade we recommend you either provide a screenshot as proof for users who may be interested in trading with you, or turn off the privacy setting temporarily while doing so.

Upgrades and Additions

• For users within the Gremcorps Discord Server, the #rules channel has been given a visual upgrade for ease of reading. Some rules were also given better clarification as to avoid loopholing.
  
  
• A new Grem2 Guide has been added to the site. This guide has been set up to be more of a tutorial guide to help aid newcomers in their Grem2 creation. This guide and other guides are still considered WIPs, therefore they will be given small updates over time.

Changes to come

•  For the Gremcorps discord server, the grem advertisements channel will be changing to be more generalized in the future. Channel rule modifications to accomodate these new changes are underway and will be made in the next week or two.
  
  
• A note from MrGremble: It's been a long time coming, but I'm firmly going to make the decision to up the group age from 13+ to a 16+ rating. When this change will officially take place is currently TBA. I will be going more in-depth on this change later-on while I work to modify the rules and TOS to match with the new age range changes. This has been a decision I've wanted to make for a very long time but have been too terrified to honestly do given the size of the group, but in order to be able to tell the story of my species more accurately, I feel that it is a necessary change.
  
  What will become of the younger demographic will be given in higher detail once I've made the official shift in another news post.
