Packs of vicious Shadowbeasts roam the Starfix hunting down errant souls. You can hear their ghastly howls in the distance, and you watch as your companion, with a concerned look on his face, frowns and frets over the prospect of being unable to protect them. That is until he turns to you, his face alight with hopeful hesitation.
"I don't suppose I could ask an additional favor of you?" He'd question, waiting until you glance over at him before he'd continue.
"The beasts you see patrolling around this land are puppets of Lapsus."
"Their main purpose is to pull creatures into this realm, and then feed their essence to him so that he may be revitalized." He'd pause for a moment as another distant howl filled the air.
"People aren't meant to be here. These Starfix Realms are made for gods to utilize, and without the protection of one, the souls here have quickly begun to wither away under Lapsus' overwhelming influence."
"I'm sure you've felt it as well?"
"Like something is sapping you of strength. It eats away at you, and even now you can hardly remember how you got here..." he looks to you again, his eyes filled with exhaustion and concern.
"These silhouettes, these lingering figures," he gestures behind where you both stand, towards the many glowing, featureless figures of both Grems and people that make their way towards the mountainous trees, "they are what remains after one has lost themselves completely, and they are easy targets for the shadowbeasts, but they can still be saved, if we can get to them first, and bring them back here."
He'd rest his hand against the bark of the giant tree that you both stand sheltered beneath.
"If you are going out to face Lapsus, could I ask of you this favor: guide any stray souls you find back here, or should you come across them, destroy Lapsus' prowling beasts. If we can thin their numbers, it might buy some time for these souls to make their way to safety."
"Lapsus is priority... but if you could manage this, then we would all be in your debt."
Objectives:
- Help rescue the trapped denizens of Palleth by either:
- Guiding any wayward souls you come across back to the safety of the ancient grove.
OR

- Destroying any shadowbeasts you come across. Thinning their ranks might help buy more time for those already on their way to the grove.
Restrictions:
- This prompt can only be completed once per user.
- Pieces submitted must be created uniquely for this prompt. Pre-existing pieces cannot be submitted.

- This prompt CAN be completed as gift art!
- Including other grems is allowed for this prompt however a focus grem must still be present and meet the requirements listed below.

Drawn pieces:
- Entries should be at minimum cleanly lined. (Lineless work is allowed but must be cleanly portrayed.)
- Color is NOT required for this prompt.
- Backgrounds are NOT required for this prompt.
- Your piece is NOT required to be shaded.
- Your main grem must be present in the image and at least 50% of their body should be clearly visible.
- If your character is heavily obstructed/obscured (Whether by blurring, effects, clothing, or shading.) so much so that we cannot tell who/where they are or easily make out the detail in the piece, then your entry will be declined.
Written pieces:
- written entries must be at least 400 words, and primarily feature your main grem.
- If submitting through a google doc entry, please be sure your link is set to “shareable” so that it can be opened and viewed by the prompt team.
When submitting your entry, please be sure to fill out the "Characters" and "Rewards" section, as well as any forms needed in the "Comments" section.
