Chili was a wild switcher eel before an accident after he wandered too far into coastal city limits and was hit by a motor vehicle. He was taken in by the same Biologist that works with scales and was able to recover most of his injuries, however signifigant damage to his left shoulder has left him with a lame leg despite corrective surgery and was deemed unfit to be released back into the wild.

Fortunately he has adapted well to captivity, happily accepting food (perhaps a little too much, he is quite round) and tolerating  the presence of the two scientists that care for him.
