Once she has all the ingredients, you watch Evie disappear into her traveling cart for some time. You sit with Crumpet, who seems to just be enjoying the sun. Evie’s snorse stands nearby, grazing on some grass, a beast who also seems far too old to be in this business with someone so young. You wait and watch the clouds roll by. Is that one a bunny? No! Now it’s almost certainly a Quaiphant!

It almost seems like a lifetime of waiting before Evie appears to you and the other helpers who have gathered to save ol’ Crumpet, but she does. The vial she holds is small and glows faintly as she approaches the withered pumpkimp.

“Stand back!” She cries, “We don’t want no one gettin’ hurt if I messed this up somehow!”

Once given enough distance, Evie carefully holds the vial at arms length, and lets the formula pour out onto Crumpet’s head. Almost instantly, the area he stood fills with a green smoke, and Evie stares at the spot where her beloved pumpkimp once was. As the smoke dissipates, there is nothing for there for her to see!

“OH CRUMPET” She cries, hand clasped on her face, aghast at the sight of Nothing, “No!! Not like this!!” She falls to her knees, her shoulders beginning to shake. She leans forward until her forehead hits the dirt and continues, “Oh, I’d give a hundred years for one more minute–”

Your heart would break. It really would. However… Standing so far back you see the truth! Crumpet is not gone, only GROWN! The size of a house, he stands behind his owner, looking with the same dedicated concern to the spot he only just lay. When Evie bursts into tears, unable to continue her thoughts, he gently gives her a nudge and she turns, crying out with immersible delight. “Crumpet! Oh!” Her tears shift immediately from those of heartbreak to ones of joy, “Why, you’re as young as you were 50 years ago!” She cheers, hugging his large, gourdy snout.

“I definitely added too much Buff shroom though,” she muses with a tearful chuckle.

When she is finished hugging him with all her might, she turns back to you, composed and giving you simply the biggest grin. “This is the best possible outcome! Not only is he young again, but he can pull the cart, give ol’ Sticky a break every now an’ again! Thank you! Now, for your reward..”
